Accessibility statement
01What this statement covers
This statement covers the public website at wattledb.com.au: the home page, pricing, documentation, blog, comparison pages, tools and legal pages. It does not cover the WattleDB console at console.wattledb.com.au, which is a separate application and has not yet been assessed in the same way.
02The standard we test against
We test against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. That is the level the Australian Human Rights Commission names in its April 2025 guidelines on equal access to digital goods and services under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth).
Conformance status: partially conformant. Some parts of the website may not yet meet the standard. We say partially because we have finished an automated check of every page but have not yet finished a full manual review, and automated tools cannot test every requirement.
03What we have checked
On 7 October 2026 we ran the axe-core accessibility engine over every page of the site, at desktop and phone widths and in both the dark and light themes. It reported no failures after the fixes below. In that round we:
- added a main content area and a “Skip to content” link to every page;
- raised the contrast of buttons, small grey text and code comments to at least 4.5:1;
- underlined links that sit inside running text, so they do not rely on colour alone;
- gave every form field a label, and made the ownership checker’s choices announce whether they are selected;
- put headings in order, and turned question-and-answer sections into headings that work without a mouse;
- made code samples and wide tables that scroll sideways reachable with the keyboard;
- made every page fit a 320-pixel-wide screen without scrolling sideways, apart from code samples and wide tables, which scroll within their own box.
04Known limitations
- Manual testing is not finished. We have not yet completed a full review with screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA) and keyboard-only navigation across every page.
- The encryption preview (encryption-demo.html) is an interactive demonstration whose results update in place. Changes to its tables may not be announced to screen readers.
- Some comparison tables are wider than a phone screen and scroll sideways inside their box without a visible hint that more columns are there.
- Code samples are shown as preformatted text and are read out character by character by some screen readers.
- The console at console.wattledb.com.au is outside this statement (see section 01).
05Tell us about a barrier
If something on this website is hard or impossible for you to use, email support@wattledb.com.au with “Accessibility” in the subject, or use the contact form. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do and, if you can, the browser and assistive technology you use. We usually reply within one Australian business day, and if you need information from a page in another format we will work with you to provide it.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Australian Human Rights Commission.
06Keeping this current
We re-check the site whenever we change its shared layout and before we publish new kinds of page, and we will update this statement when the manual review is complete.
